Chemicals Fumigation in Malaysia

Chemicals Fumigation in Malaysia
Many different gases and gas compounds are used for fumigation. The most widely used chemicals include Chloropicrin, Methyl Bromide and Phospine (PH3). Some gases, such as the sulphuryl fluoride used for termite fumigation, are odorless. For safety reasons, tear gas, which has a strong odor and causes irritation, may be added to these chemicals to alert people to their presence. Certain chemicals, including acrylonitrile and carbon tetrachloride, used to be common fumigants but are no longer used as pesticides. The use of methyl bromide is being limited because of concerns about damage to the ozone layer.
